About the position: As the Cloud Systems Engineer, you will be under the general supervision of the IT Operations Manager, the Cloud-Focused Senior Systems Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Arkana's cloud infrastructure, with an emphasis on Microsoft Azure and Office 365 services. This role will also provide advanced support for cloud-based applications, hybrid environments, and assist with network and system security. While the primary focus is cloud technologies, the role will involve collaborating with the on-prem Senior Systems Administrator to ensure seamless integration and optimization of cloud and on-prem systems. What you'll do: • Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management: Architect, deploy, and manage scalable cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and other cloud platforms • Hybrid Environment Support: Manage the integration of on-premises and cloud systems (e.g., Azure AD in hybrid environments), ensuring a seamless user experience • Cloud Services Administration: Administer and optimize services like Azure AD, Intune, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange Online • Cloud Security: Collaborate with the security team to implement cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with HIPAA & CAP requirements • Automation & Scripting: Write and manage PowerShell scripts to automate cloud-based tasks and optimize performance • Project Leadership: Lead or support cloud-based projects, including migrations, upgrades, and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations • Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with the on-prem Senior Systems Administrator to align cloud and on-prem solutions. Mentor support staff in cloud technologies and foster cross-training • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Serve as an escalation point for cloud-related issues, coordinating with the on-prem team to resolve complex system problems • System Monitoring & Performance: Monitor cloud infrastructure and proactively address performance bottlenecks and potential issues • Cloud Licensing & Cost Management: Manage Microsoft licenses, including Volume Licenses, EA, and Reservations, optimizing cost and ensuring compliance • Hybrid Active Directory: Collaborate on managing the current hybrid Active Directory environment and participate in formulating strategic plans for expansion • Virtualization: Assist in managing and maintaining virtual environments using Hyper-V and VMware, ensuring redundancy with the on-prem Senior Systems Administrator • Disaster Recovery & Backup: Participate in designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies for hybrid environments • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, from design to implementation • Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not know technical terminology • Maintain system documentation and logs • Perform or assist in diagnosing production problems, developing root-cause analysis and resolution action plans, including technology recommendations • Maintain application security, event investigations, and compliance enforcement; Review personnel conduct concerning data protection • Provide monitoring, primary response, and intervention for information technology-related security incidents and violations • Secure IT Infrastructure by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access • Implement and maintain HIPAA & CAP requirements • Keep current with new information technology security protocols, applicable laws and regulations • Keep current with new information technologies & software • Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned You should have: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104) required. Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (AZ-305) preferred. Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certifications preferred. Experience: 5+ years of experience in cloud-focused roles 2+ years managing Azure and Office 365 environments. Strong experience in cloud security, network integration, and application management. Experience in hybrid environments, particularly managing Azure AD and on-prem AD together. Advanced PowerShell scripting skills. Familiarity with on-prem infrastructure, particularly virtualization platforms like Hyper-V and VMware. Experience in supporting and mentoring technical staff. Other Requirements: Ability to travel 10 miles to support remote sites. This position is onsite at the main office in Little Rock, Arkansas.
