Position Specific Description An Active Directory Platform Engineer creates value for our organization by ensuring our Microsoft Active Directory and authentication platforms are secure, reliable, and highly available for our enterprise. This position will be responsible for working with our AD Architect and platform engineering team to support the design and implementation of Active Directory projects aimed at hardening our cyber security posture and providing robust and reliable authentication services. This position will also be responsible for delivering on projects related to Azure Authentication services, such as Azure AD, AD Connect, and SSO. This person will be required to work with application development teams to assess and implement authentication solutions in support of their projects. The candidate is expected to possess a strong Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, and VMware management background, as well as communication and collaboration skills. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Solution Design / Architecture a. Meet with stakeholders to understand problem or opportunity, gather and document requirements b. Develop high-level design documentation to be reviewed and approved by NEE Sr. Architect(s) c. Develop low-level detailed designs and build/configuration documentation d. Development of strategies to strengthen and modernize our Corporate Active Directory Environments to be reviewed and approved by NEE Sr. Architect(s) • Build / Implement Solutions a. Build solutions for authentication and system infrastructure b. Validate operational readiness c. Complete all required documentation and turnover support to operations team through knowledge transfer d. Support the implementation of Azure authentication services projects e. Utilize Scrum and Jira to track and report progress on projects • Operational Excellence a. Provide engineering support to our IT operations team and handle escalations from the team to resolve critical issues in the Active Directory and Azure AD environments. b. Implement Azure Single Sign On and Conditional Access policies to support our application development teams Skills / Experience Needed: • Demonstrate high level knowledge on Microsoft AD, DNS, ADFS, PKI and SCOM solutions. • Demonstrate high level knowledge on Azure Authentication services, including Azure AD, AD Connect, SSO, and MFA. • Demonstrate high level knowledge in VMWare solutions, including vSphere, vSAN, vCenter, and vRealize Suite. • Must have working knowledge in using Powershell and Powercli. • Must have working knowledge in using AD Specific command line tools like Repadmin and DCDiag. • The ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision to achieve project milestones and deadlines. • Experience working with Active Directory services in an enterprise environment with over 10,000 users is preferred.
