One of our clients is seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Senior Security Engineer to support the security of both internal and public-facing applications across a variety of web and Windows platforms. The successful candidate will work alongside seasoned staff and contractors to enhance the cloud security posture of the organization’s systems in alignment with regulatory and industry standards. You will be contributing to mission-critical applications in a collaborative Agile/Scrum development environment. Candidates must have extensive Azure security experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and implementation of Azure cloud security controls • Administer and optimize Azure Security Services such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Key Vault, Azure Policy/Blueprints, and Azure Security Center • Secure Azure Active Directory (AAD) environments, including MFA, conditional access, and identity protection • Apply and maintain PIM (Privileged Identity Management) and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) frameworks • Secure hybrid connectivity infrastructure, including NSGs, ASGs, VPN, and ExpressRoute • Perform threat modeling, vulnerability management, SIEM/SOAR tuning, and incident forensics • Ensure compliance with standards like NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and others • Create and deliver comprehensive security architecture documentation and risk reports • Automate and enforce security policies using PowerShell, Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform • Integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) • Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to promote secure deployment strategies • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems while managing risks Requirements Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years in IT security or cloud security roles • 3+ years hands-on experience securing Azure environments • Expertise in Azure Security Services, including: • Microsoft Defender • Sentinel • Azure Key Vault • Azure Policy/Blueprints • Azure Security Center • Experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD) including MFA, conditional access, identity protection • Deep knowledge of PIM, RBAC, NSGs, ASGs, VPN, and ExpressRoute • Experience with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR) • Ability to lead and respond to threat modeling, forensics, alert triage, and incident response • Strong scripting skills: PowerShell, ARM/Bicep templates, Terraform • Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for secure deployments • Ability to create and present security reports, architecture designs, and risk mitigation strategies Highly Desired Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field • Relevant certifications such as: • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert • Azure Security Engineer Associate (SC-300) • CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM Benefits Why Work With Us?
