Azure Data Engineer Location: Carmel Indiana | Hybrid/Remote Options Available Travel: Up to 5% | On-call availability as needed Join our growing Data & Analytics team as an Azure Data Engineer, where you’ll design and deliver scalable, cloud-based data solutions that support business-critical analytics and insights. This role spans modern data services, cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and security/governance in hybrid environments. What You’ll Do • Design, build, and deploy end-to-end Azure-based data solutions • Develop scalable data pipelines for ingestion, curation, and provisioning • Collaborate in agile teams to solve complex data challenges • Support transition to DevOps practices; automate CI/CD workflows • Ensure data quality through validation, testing, and exception handling • Monitor and optimize pipeline performance and cost • Mentor junior engineers and champion continuous improvement What You Bring • 5+ years of data engineering experience • Strong SQL, Python, and PySpark skills • Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric • Experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD, GitHub, monitoring, cost mgmt) • Familiarity with Power BI/Tableau and messaging tools like Kafka/Event Hubs (preferred) • Understanding of security, governance, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FERC, NERC) You Excel At • Critical thinking and problem solving in fast-paced environments • Clear and effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams • Managing multiple projects with strong attention to detail Nice to Have • Experience with containerization/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) • Exposure to energy/utilities industries or regulated environments
