Job Title: Sales Manager - Manufacturing Industry Location: Chicago, Illinois Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Sales Job Summary: The Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets and metrics as described, developing strategic sales plans, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales within the manufacturing and/or transportation sector, excellent leadership skills, strong customer retention and a proven track record of achieving sales goals. Key Responsibilities: • Sales Strategy and Planning: • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive sales growth with new clients via business development. • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities. • Set sales targets and quotas in alignment with business objectives. • Team Leadership: • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team partners and peers to achieve and exceed sales targets. • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide and receive constructive feedback. • Client Relationship Management: • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders. • Identify client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements. • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and communication. • Sales Operations: • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to senior management. • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional activities and campaigns. • Product Knowledge: • Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s product offerings and manufacturing processes. • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices. Qualifications: • Education: • Bachelor’s degree prefered but not required • Highschool graduate or G.E.D equivalent with relevant years of previous experience • Experience: • Minimum of 3+ years of sales experience in the manufacturing and/or transportation industry, with at least 2 years in a producer role. • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. • Skills and Competencies: • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. • Other Requirements: • Willingness to travel as required. • Valid driver’s license.
