Position Summary As a Data Scientist within the Clinical Analytics Product Solutions team, you will be responsible for creating innovative solutions to drive better healthcare outcomes for members with complex care needs. This role will support the development and implementation of analytic products to enhance the impact of Aetna's care management programs, including creation of predictive models and machine learning/deep learning algorithms to identify care opportunities, A/B testing of intervention strategies, prioritization of clinical recommendations, evaluating product effectiveness, and optimization of information delivery. You will be responsible for participating in all phases of initiatives from exploration of clinical opportunities, development of solutions, and partnering with IT and business teams for implementation. This role will be focused on iteratively solving for business problems by designing and implementing scalable data science solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the identification and deep analysis of business problems to assess the feasibility and impact of analytics and data science solutions tailored to our needs. • Explore, assess, and validate diverse data sources for analytics initiatives, ensuring data quality and relevance for business problem-solving. • Develop, implement, and maintain data-driven solutions that address specific business challenges, optimizing for member engagement and experience. • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with strategic and financial goals, enabling clear visibility into the success of analytics initiatives. • Formulate and propose actionable recommendations for further analytics development, fostering data-driven discussions within the team. • Coordinate with team members to ensure seamless integration of analytics solutions into broader business initiatives, actively communicating status updates and adjustments as needed. • Conduct independent research to support solution development, proactively identifying resources and solutions while collaborating as necessary to address complex challenges. • Conduct thorough data exploration and maintain detailed documentation to support the scalability, transparency, and reproducibility of analytics initiatives. • Use an iterative approach to build analytics solutions, starting with fundamental models and progressively enhancing complexity based on observed impact, balancing effort with outcome. • Develop, validate and execute algorithms and predictive models to investigate problems, detect patterns and recommend solutions. • Performs analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve moderately complex business problems utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses. Required Qualifications • 1+ year of relevant Data Science experience • 1+ year experience programming in SQL and Python to manipulatelarge data sets and develop Statistical Models • 1+ year experience working with Cloud Computing (GCP, AWS or Azure) • 1+ year experience with Statistical Analysis, Machine Learning and Predictive Modeling Preferred Qualifications • Statistics or Biostatistics background • Experience deploying models in production • Experience with GitHub • Experience in Google Cloud/BigQuery • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking and conceptual thinking abilities • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners • Knowledge of health care industry Education • Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Economics, Physics, Engineering or related discipline. • Master's degree preferred. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $86,520.00 - $173,040.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
