Title: Sr. Developer III – Microsoft Purview, Azure Entra ID, Plain ID & IAM Duration: 7 Months - Long Term Location: Washington, DC 20433 Hybrid Onsite: 4 Days onsite per week from Day1 Note: Resource Request is for a software developer having proficiency in Microsoft Purview, who will be responsible for conducting assessments, designing, and piloting a centralized reporting platform for DACO's CRG business unit. This role will also lead the exploration and governance of data management tools to optimize access management policies and real-time authorization capabilities and is a leader who can deliver results. Scope of work:- • Design end-to-end architecture for a metrics dashboard using Microsoft Purview and other data governance tools to monitor and enforce access management policies. • Conduct a full assessment of current reporting and authorization requirements, integrating data from multiple source systems, including Plain ID, SailPoint, and Azure. • Design and implement data integration processes to ensure smooth data flow from applications into the reporting platform using Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Databricks. • Leverage Power BI to create user-friendly dashboards and reports for visualizing key metrics and KPIs relevant to access management. • Develop a governance framework to manage identity-related metadata to support compliance and data security. • Conduct a detailed assessment of integration needs for the centralized reporting platform, evaluating existing systems (Plain ID, SailPoint, Azure) and identifying optimal pathways for data flow into the new solution. • Lead a pilot implementation of the centralized reporting platform, including the initial integration of selected data sources and the development of preliminary dashboards for key metrics and KPIs. • Evaluate integration points for Microsoft Entra ID and other IAM solutions to establish a cohesive identity governance structure. Document findings to support pilot development for managing roles, groups, and metadata. Skills / Experience Required: Microsoft Technology Expertise • Proficiency in Microsoft Purview for data governance, Microsoft Entra ID for identity management, and Microsoft Power BI for data visualization. • Experience with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data integration and processing. • Familiarity with Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) and Microsoft Compliance Manager for data classification, protection, and compliance. Solution Architecture • Proven experience in solution architecture, especially in designing data governance and reporting solutions that align with enterprise standards. • Proficiency in creating architectural documentation, flow diagrams, and governance frameworks for data management. Data Governance and Compliance (Microsoft Purview) • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Purview, including setting up data governance frameworks, managing data discovery and classification, and monitoring data lineage across complex environments. • Proficiency in using Microsoft Purview’s data cataloging capabilities to create and maintain an organized inventory of data assets, as well as implementing data classification policies for sensitive information. Data Integration and Reporting • Hands-on experience developing and managing dashboards and reporting platforms using Power BI. • Skilled in integrating data from multiple sources, including databases (Oracle, Postgres, SQL, Azure Cosmos DB), cloud applications, and other reporting platforms. • Knowledge of data storage solutions and integration with databases like Oracle, SQL, and cloud solutions such as Azure Blob Storage. Identity and Access Management (IAM) • Knowledgeable in IAM, especially around policy creation, role-based access control (RBAC), and identity governance using Microsoft Entra ID. • Experience with standardized IAM governance processes and tools for managing identity metadata. API Integration and Development: • Experience in API design, development, and management using Azure API Management and OAuth/JWT for security. • Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger/OpenAPI. Cloud Security and Compliance • Understanding of security practices and compliance standards (NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001) for cloud environments. • Understanding of secure cloud architectures, including network security through Azure Virtual Network, NSGs, and Azure Firewall. Collaboration and Communication • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams and presenting solutions to stakeholders. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and adapt to evolving project needs. Cloud Security Design and Implementation: • Experience with designing secure cloud architectures on Microsoft Azure following best practices (CIS Controls, NIST, ISO 27001). • Expertise in managing identities, authentication, and authorization using Azure Active Directory (Entra ID). Data Protection: • Experience with data encryption, data loss prevention policies, and secure data storage solutions (Azure Blob Storage, ADLS, Azure SQL Database) in Azure. • Experience with Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) for data classification and labeling. • Experience with developing secure backup and recovery strategies using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery. • Experience using Azure Sentinel and Azure Security Center for threat detection and continuous security monitoring. Security Monitoring and Auditing: • Experience with designing secure network architectures using Azure Virtual Network, NSGs, and Azure Firewall. • Experience with implementing audit and security monitoring practices with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Professional Experience: • 8+ years of hands-on experience with IAM technology architecture, design, and development. • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field. Certifications: • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate, and Power BI Data Analyst Associate are highly desirable.
