Position Title: Technical Business Analyst Location: Charlotte, NC Duration: 12 Months contract with possibility of extension Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to work onsite with our client, driving business requirements gathering and translating them into detailed technical specifications for data ingestion into Microsoft Fabric Medallion Architecture. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and technical teams to ensure a smooth and efficient data integration process from multiple source systems into Microsoft Fabric. Key Responsibilities Business Requirement Gathering • Engage with business stakeholders to understand business processes, data needs, and analytical requirements. • Conduct workshops, interviews, and working sessions to gather detailed business requirements. • Identify and document data sources, business rules, and transformation logic. • Define success criteria and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the data ingestion and processing pipeline. • Translation to Technical Requirements • Analyze and map business requirements to technical specifications for data ingestion into Microsoft Fabric. • Develop detailed technical documentation, including data schemas, data quality rules, and metadata requirements. • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure alignment on technical implementation. Stakeholder Management and Communication • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. • Facilitate regular status meetings and provide progress updates to stakeholders. • Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts related to data requirements and delivery timelines. • Ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions.Quality Assurance and Governance • Define and enforce data governance standards and best practices. • Validate data accuracy and consistency across ingestion pipelines and reporting layers. • Monitor data quality and address issues proactively. Required Skills and Qualifications • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in a data-focused environment. • Strong understanding of data ingestion and ETL/ELT processes. • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric or similar products and Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Experience working in an Agile environment is preferred. • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage principles. Preferred Skills • Experience with Power BI and other Microsoft data visualization tools. • Exposure to Azure Synapse, Data Factory, and other Azure data services. • Familiarity with industry standards for data security and compliance.
