Description: Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Data Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team at an EdTech cloud software company. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the development of SaaS web applications and online content used by teachers and students in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. You will work closely with our Data Engineer/Architect, who will serve as your supervisor and mentor, guiding you through various projects and tasks. Duration: Approximately 3 months Supervisory Responsibilities None. Duties & Responsibilities: Data Architecture and Engineering: • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data architectures and pipelines using Microsoft Data Fabric, Microsoft Azure SQL, and AWS Aurora mySQL. • Support the implementation and management of data storage solutions on Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms. • Help develop and maintain data models and databases to support business intelligence and analytics needs. • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms. Artificial Intelligence Integration: • Collaborate with the AI team to develop and deploy AI/ML models for enhanced data-driven decision-making. • Integrate AI solutions into data pipelines for improved business insights and user performance analytics. Data Analytics and Visualization: • Utilize data visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau to create insightful and actionable reports. • Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns that inform business strategies and product development. • Provide data-driven insights to internal business leadership and EdTech SaaS product subscribers. Collaboration and Communication: • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources including Salesforce and other enterprise solutions. • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering, architecture, analytics, and AI. Required Skills & Abilities: • Interest in the EdTech industry. • Familiarity with customer-facing SaaS solutions. • Knowledge of additional data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus. Education & Experience: • Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Basic understanding of data engineering concepts and technologies. • Familiarity with Microsoft Data Fabric, Microsoft Azure SQL, AWS Aurora, and Microsoft Azure is a plus. • Experience with data visualization tools like Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau is a plus. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
